CNC CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. The cutting head is controlled by a set of numerical instructions that can be altered by the operator by way of a software load program. |
Cutting Axis Cutting Axis is the number of axes of motion a cutting machine is capable of cutting. 2-axis machines are used to cut flat sheet material while a 3-axis machine is used to cut three dimensional parts. Some 5-axis and 6-axis machines can perform cutting operations on parts that have been pre-formed by casting or machining. |
